Among the myriad of talents featured at the 2024 biennale, Abraham Onoriode Oghobase, an alum of York University's Graduate Program in Visual Arts (MFA 2022), will display his work at the Nigeria Pavilion.

2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject: AMPD Performing Arts Among Top 150 Globally
Every year, the QS World University Rankings by Subject identifies the world's strongest universities in 55 individual subject areas, grouped into five subject areas: Arts and Humanities; Engineering and Technology; Life Sciences and Medicine; Natural Sciences; and Social Sciences and Management. In the 2024 publication of the rankings, York University experienced notable changes in its performance across various subject areas. Notably, York’s Arts and Humanities ranking saw a remarkable improvement over the past year, now tied for #157 globally.
Integrative Arts Inaugural Student Showcase Emphasizes Interdisciplinarity of the Program
On April 6, 2024, the Integrative Arts program held its inaugural showcase, titled “Into the Kaleidoscope,” at the 918 Bathurst Centre for Culture, Arts, Media & Education in downtown Toronto. The event featured an array of works by Integrative Arts students as well as students from various programs within the School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design (AMPD) at York University.
INDUSTRY TALKS: Spotlight on R.T. Thorne at YUMMS
On Friday, February 23, York University Motion Media Studio (YUMMS) held the last of their INDUSTRY TALKS series. Hosted by Associate Professor Ingrid Veninger, the talk featured legendary Canadian filmmaker R.T. Thorne, whose most recent works include the Afrofuturistic sci-fi show Utopia Falls (2020) and CBC’s The Porter (2022).

On March 6, 2024, The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announced the nominees for this year's Canadian Screen Awards. Among the nominees, you will find over 45 York University School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design (AMPD) alums for Canadian Screen Awards across diverse categories, from Best Motion Picture and Best Cinematography to the Best Writing, Documentary.
Professor Janine Marchessault among 2024 Killam Prize recipients
