What are the general education requirements for students in the School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design?



Students in the School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design must complete six credits from each of the following general education areas:

Humanities: 6.0 credits
Natural Science: 6.0 credits
Social Science: 6.0 credits

Examples of subjects that qualify:

Humanities: Classical studies, English, French, history, humanities, languages, modes of reasoning, philosophy.
Natural Science: Biology, chemistry, earth and atmospheric science, environmental studies (e.g., ES/ENVS 1500 3.00), physics and astronomy, science and technology studies (SC/STS).
Social Science: Anthropology, economics, geography, political science, social science, sociology.

Alternatively, six credits from the FA/XXXX 1900 series of courses outside the major may be used to satisfy the Humanities requirement.
