Hi! My name is Tiana Kralj and I am a third year Theatre student focused on Devised Theatre as well as Set and Costume Design. My pronoun is she/her. I’m a commuter from Mississauga, which is where I grew up. I have worked for several years as camp councilor at Teen Ranch and as a dance teacher at Mississauga Ballet Association. Additionally, in 2014, I travelled with a team to rural Kenya to build two school houses and teach drama classes.
I chose the theatre program at York because of the incredible opportunities it provides to dabble in many areas of theatre and gain experience as not only a performer, but also as a designer, builder, and creator. Moreover, I love being able to address difficult topics through my art as a theatre creator, which subsequently sparks conversations about important social or political issues. In addition to my studies, I have had the opportunity to be a part of Vanier College Productions both onstage and offstage.
Once my time at York is over, I hope to teach drama, dance, and English at a secondary school level.
