Hi, my name is James Tulloch and I am a 3rd year music student studying in Jazz voice. I grew up in Brampton, Ontario for the majority of my life, but I hopped around different places across the GTA. I was always jumping schools, but my favorite experience was going to Mayfield Secondary School for the Arts and learning about music as well as the different categories of arts from the Fine Arts. I would say that it was from this experience, where I really found my passion for what I love to do. This provided me with the opportunity to learn so much about the world I live in.
I chose to study at York U because I believed that York had the diversity in its programs for the arts which would give me the skills I needed to grow as a musician. Every year I am always learning something new and exciting that keeps my passion burning.
For me, music has literally been my “body and soul.” I have always believed that music has carried itself in a peculiar art form. Additionally, being able to use sound as a landscape for creativity, has always fascinated me and it further helps that I have the talent needed to create such art in my own sculpting.
After I finish here at York University, I plan on bringing my talents to the world stage as an aspiring freelance musician as well as taking my talents into the studio to help cultivate my experience here.
