Amy Kingston

Hi! My name is Amy Kingston and I am a third year student double majoring in Theatre PCR (Performance Creation and Research) and Human Rights and Equity. Here is a little more about me: my pronouns are she/her. I am originally from Red Deer, Alberta but I love the fast pace vibe and opportunities Toronto has brought me! I am on Winters College Council as the CASA (Creative Arts Student Association) Representative. I love all things sports and have had the chance to work for each major team in Toronto. My favorite has been the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Raptors. When I graduate, I hope to be able to use my knowledge in Human Rights to influence the art that I love and think is important in order help people suffering from social injustices around the world.

The reason I chose to study at York is because I loved the idea that you can streamline your training to what you want to learn and who you want to be. Over the two years I have spent in this program, I have found interests in different parts of theatre that I never thought I would ever enjoy and even more so, I am beyond grateful that I get to study it all as well. Within the program, I take courses in acting, directing and design.

I have a lot of love for York’s theatre program and the opportunities it can bring for its students, so if you ever have any questions or concerns, please never hesitate to reach out. I look forward to getting to know all of my lovely peers and fellow artists and I hope to see you all in the hallways!
