Electronic Literature Organization (ELO) named AMPD Professor Caitlin Fisher its new Board President. Fisher assumed office July 1 after serving in various roles, including tenures as Treasurer and Vice President since 2001, and will steward the international scholarly association's move outside the United States for the first time.

“Bringing the ELO to York University – a large, urban, innovative and incredibly diverse university – represents an exciting opportunity for both organizations,” says Fisher.

Fisher will draw on her experience as director of both the Immersive Storytelling Lab and the Augmented Reality Lab to build ELO's reputation as a leader in developing methods for evaluating the quality of digital creative and critical works. She also will assist with ELO's Bloomsbury Press book series, endowed innovation and research excellence awards adjudication and international conferences and exhibitions.
