Biography

Susan is a pianist and singer with over two decades of experience in performance, opera, and post-secondary music education. She is currently on the faculty of York University as a piano instructor and collaborative pianist.
Holding Master of Music degrees in both Collaborative Piano and Voice Performance from the University of Toronto, she brings a dual perspective to her work, blending refined pianistic skill with deep vocal insight. Susan has completed advanced training at esteemed programs including the Canadian Opera Company’s Ensemble Studio, the Mozarteum Masterclasses in Salzburg, and the Centro Studi Opera Festival in Italy.
As a performer, Susan has collaborated with artists across Canada and internationally, appearing in recital with singers such as Catherine Robbin and Ken Lavigne. Professional credits include work with the Canadian Opera Company as a chorister since 2001, as well as appearances on CBC Radio-Canada and Bravo! television.
In addition to her academic and performing career, Susan is active as a music director in the faith community, most recently at Doon Presbyterian Church in Kitchener. She regularly adjudicates for music festivals and competitions, such as the ORMTA Piano and Voice competition and the Halton Hills Festival.
