Ravi Naimpally is a juno award winning tabla player, celebrated for his mastery of Indian classical music. With roots in traditional Hindustani music, he has developed a unique style that blends classical rigor with contemporary influences. Ravi began his musical journey at a young age, training under esteemed gurus such as Pandit Nikhil Ghosh, Pandit Anindo Chatterjee and Pandit Sushil Kumar Jain, who instilled in him a profound appreciation for rhythm and improvisation. Over the years, Ravi has performed extensively, captivating audiences around the world with his dynamic playing and deep musicality. He has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, spanning various genres, including jazz, world music, and fusion. His ability to adapt and innovate while respecting traditional forms has earned him accolades in the music community. In addition to his performance career, Ravi is passionate about music education and is on the faculty of music at York University and Humber College. He conducts workshops and masterclasses, sharing his knowledge of tabla techniques, rhythms, and the cultural significance of Indian music. His teaching emphasizes creativity and personal expression, inspiring a new generation of musicians.
