Natalie Stewart’s career in music education spans three decades, and includes being an artist (piano, vocals), arranger, and director. With her education in classical music studies intersecting with her roots in gospel music, Stewart completed her Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology (York University, 2007), and has created a niche for herself that encompasses curriculum development, research, and course directorships in gospel music education and musicianship/aural skills training. Stewart has been a music professor at multiple post-secondary institutions in Toronto (York University, Humber Polytechnic, and Centennial College) directing Gospel choirs, and teaching musicianship and music theory courses, while running her own music education/consulting business. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Music Education and serves as an Assistant Conductor to the Juno award-winning Toronto Mass Choir.
