Biography

Darren is a multi-disciplinary designer, communicator, and educator who has built his career around serial reinvention.

From innovative branding, design, and communications in both traditional and digital spaces, to user experience consulting and strategy, to creative direction, product design, and higher education, each move has been a tangent spun off from a previous trajectory.

Passionate about deploying his creative and analytical skills to reveal patterns and connect the dots he has collected, he also colours outside the lines, comfortably blurring, crossing, and erasing boundaries to build understanding through compelling storytelling and clear communication.

Darren holds a Master of Arts in Learning and Technology, with a focus on sustainability and digital learning in the postsecondary sector, and continues to explore digital transformation of higher education through his teaching practice. He has taught in the Design program at York University since 1998, and previously in the Bachelor of Interaction Design program at Sheridan College.
