Theatre students learn how to choreograph intimacy

During the winter term Siobhan Richardson, professional actor and choreographer, presented intimacy choreography workshops for York University theatre students. In the video above, Richardson and our 4th-year actors discuss the techniques taught, and the importance of choreographing intimacy for the stage and screen.

Richardson’s workshops offer a language for staging sexuality, whether it be for film, television or theatre.  Through discussion and exercises, participants learn valuable techniques to improve their storytelling while maintaining a safe and professional rehearsal environment.

York University is committed to maintaining safe spaces for our students.  To learn more about Siobhan Richardson’s intimacy direction, you can visit her website here.
