Culture creator and entertainment blogger Hye’s Musings sat down with AMPD Ph.D. music student Luis Ramirez to talk about music composition, Ph.D. work, and much more.
Ramirez is pursuing doctoral studies in Composition at AMPD with Randolph Peters, exploring the digital landscape for music-making and humanity’s sometimes negative relationship with the internet. Outside the classroom, he is preparing to premiere another new composition, KOATL, with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra. He is about to embark on a new journey as one of three early-career composers in Music Director Gustavo Gimeno’s NextGen Composers.
