AMPD Equity Plan Monthly Update February 2022
In the past month, actions toward implementation and progression of the Kojo Institute recommendations have continued throughout AMPD. These include:
- Scheduled trainings on equity for all faculty, staff, and administrators are scheduled for April and May, 2022. Registrations will be circulated in March.
- Review of imagery, art, and representation throughout AMPD spaces. Photos in the Dance hallways to be updated with more recent photos reflecting the current diversity of dancers, taken in collaboration with photography students in Visual Arts.
- Ongoing review of AA plans for hiring committees and planned trainings specific to best practices in hiring, recruitment, and retention planned for fall.
- Successful hire in African Art History and Visual Culture (VAAH)
