Celebrating Christina: Christina Petrowska Quilico in Recital

For over 40 years, world-renowned pianist Christina Petrowska Quilico has been instrumental in developing future generations of music industry changemakers at the York University School of Arts, Music, Performance and Design (AMPD). On September 29, AMPD celebrates her life-long commitment to the arts, education, and advocacy with Celebrating Christina: Christina Petrowska Quilico in Recital, held on-campus at Tribute Communities Recital Hall.

AMPD alum Vania Lizbeth Chan (BFA, PhD) is joining the Vancouver Playhouse's CHINATOWN running September 13 to 17, 2022, with libretto by Madeleine Thien, music by AlicePing Yee Ho, and Hoisan translation by Paul Yee.

Toronto Musicians’ Association names Levon Ichkhanian 2022 Musician of the Year

Ph.D. student Levon Ichkhanian is the Toronto Musicians' Association's 2022 Musician of the Year.  The award recognized Ichkhanian's dedication to excellence in all aspects of music and the high standard of professionalism and artistry he set for the Association. Past winners include Shawn Mendes, Nelly Furtado and former York University chancellor Oscar Peterson.

PODIUM 2022 unites Canada with help from Professor Karen Burke and Stephanie Martin

From May 19 to 23, the PODIUM 2022 national biennial bilingual choral conference will be held online and in person in Toronto, Ontario. Planned by Choral Canada and Choirs Ontario, including AMPD's own Professor Karen Burke and Stephanie Martin, PODIUM 2022 brings together choral scholars and enthusiasts from across the globe to explore the conference theme of "Reimagine, Rebuild, Reconnect".
