Navigating Change Along the Artistic Journey

Navigating Change Along the Artistic Journey

About this Episode:

In this episode, York University Theatre alumni Julian Bulof and Rachel Kennedy delve into the ever-evolving nature of an artistic career. They discuss how embracing change has fueled their creative growth and how their time at York University helped them forge lasting relationships and develop essential skills for continuous advancement in their respective fields.

About the Guests:

Rachel Kennedy is a proud graduate of York University’s Devised Theatre program. She is a Toronto-based arts administrator and theatre producer with a passion for advocacy, creative solutions, and amplifying local voices. Through her previous work at the Playwrights Guild of Canada, Theatre Ontario, Next Generation Showcase and Toronto Arts Council / Toronto Arts Foundation, she has been connecting with artists across Toronto and beyond as they develop their practices and seek to increase equity within our sector. As an independent producer, Rachel’s first show was staged through the Toronto Fringe Festival and she has subsequently continued to engage enthusiastically with the organization’s annual offerings. She is grateful to count herself among one of the many indie theatre workers whose careers have benefited from the Toronto Fringe, where she is now Executive Director and Co-Lead.

Julian Bulof graduated from York University in 2015 with a BFA in Theatre Production and Design. With a background in stage carpentry, he quickly expanded his expertise into lighting, special effects, and production management. His diverse experience spans live concert events, Mirvish Productions, film and television projects such as The Boys and Star Trek, and work at the Stratford Festival. Currently, Julian serves as the Associate Production Manager at Koerner Hall, part of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
