From exhibitions and celebrated awards to major publications, the 2024-25 year saw AMPD faculty continue to shape conversations in art and culture.

Professor Janine Marchessault appeared on CBC Radio One’s Ideas as one of the five recipients of the esteemed 2024 Killam Prize, where she discussed her research and the crisis in Canada’s film and video archives.

Professor and Associate Dean of Research Sarah Parsons co-curated Hypervisibility: Early Photography and Privacy in North America, 1839–1900 at The Image Centre, and published Photography in Canada: 1839–1989 with the Art Canada Institute.

Assistant Professor Jessica Campbell exhibited Heterodoxy at the Fabric Workshop and Museum, weaving together satire and feminism.

Professor Laura Levin co-edited Jess Dobkin’s Wetrospective: Constellating Performance Archives, reflecting on the internationally acclaimed artist’s playful and provocative practice as performer, activist, curator, and community leader.

Assistant Professor Taien Ng-Chan led the Sari-Sari Xchange Project, a community-building research & creation project using Extended Reality (XR) (ie. Virtual, Augmented, Mixed Realities) to foster new works by artists from the Asian diaspora.
