AMPD welcomes five new staff members



The AMPD team is growing! Please welcome five new AMPD staff members who will use their diverse experiences to fuel positive change on and off campus.

Mercedes Boateng-Graduate

Program Assistant, Music

A York University Psychology graduate, Mercedes Boateng-Graduate joins AMPD with adept experience working as a Psychology department project coordinator, with past projects including 3D Mobile Mapping Artificial Intelligence (3DMMAI) and Intelligent Systems for Sustainable Urban Mobility (ISSUM). Outside the lab, Mercedes worked as an office assistant at York University.

Student Engagement Liaison

Gabriella Dilorenzo comes to AMPD with considerable student services experience, having previously worked in Academic Advising Services in LA&PS, as well as in Student Client Services in the Office of the Registrar.

Karen joins AMPD from the School of Continuing Studies where she has served in various Management roles over the last 11 years, including her most recent two-year term as Associate Director, Student Services. She has served as the Assistant Director, Student Success, for The York University English Language Institute (YUELI) where her accomplishments through innovation and leadership for student services included establishing services standards, processes to improve enrolment conversion, and the implementation of the Destiny student registration system.

Experiential Education Coordinator

Viniththa Nagarajah joins us from her previous role as an Experiential Education Assistant with the Schulich School of Business. Viniththa has also worked as a Program Department Assistant and a Career Education Peer Support Intern here at York.

Lan Vu

International Recruitment Officer

Lan Vu joins us from the University of Northern British Colombia (UNBC) where she was an International Recruitment Officer and Regional Manager for Southeast Asia. Previous to this, Lan was an International Recruitment Officer for Niagara College. As an international student from Vietnam who obtained a master’s degree in Education from Brock University, Lan knows first-hand what international students and their families need when considering education options abroad.

 

 

Goodbyes

Three AMPD staff members have moved on to new adventures. The school thanks them for their commitment and dedication to the student experience, cultivation of community and promotion of cutting-edge arts, culture and design research.
