AMPD Design students and alumni recognized at the 2025 RGD Student Awards



Design students and alumni from York University’s School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD) have been recognized at the 2025 RGD Student Awards, presented by the Association of Registered Graphic Designers.

“The Department of Design is once again honoured by our students’ achievements in the annual RGD Student Awards Competition,” says Design Professor David Cabianca. “To have three winners and eight honourable mentions across so many categories is an outstanding accomplishment, and we wish our students continued success in their future careers.”

As one of Canada’s most prestigious student graphic design competitions, this year’s awards honoured AMPD Design students across multiple categories, showcasing the innovation and talent emerging from York’s Design program.

2025 RGD Student Award Winners from AMPD

“Design at York helped expand my creative skills and design tastes to a professional level,” says Richard Lau, a third-year Design student. “The environment within my classrooms fostered a critical and constructive culture, allowing us to strive to improve upon what was previously thought of as the standard.”

In addition to the winning entries, several AMPD students were recognized with honourable mentions across a range of design disciplines.

These awards highlight the meaningful contributions our students bring to the design field, both during their studies and after graduation.
