Community members from York University’s School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD) were recognized as part of this year’s Dora Mavor Moore Award nominations.
Alumni, faculty, instructors and a current PhD candidate have received nominations across theatre, dance and performance in numerous categories.
Nominations span performance, direction, design, writing and production, with several AMPD-connected productions receiving multiple nominations, including The Welkin, The Green Line, Octet and take rimbaud!.
Professor Courtney Ch’ng Lancaster was part of two ensemble nominations for The Welkin and take rimbaud!, Makram Ayache (MFA ’19) earned two nominations for The Green Line.
Joshua Kilimnik (BFA ’23) and Shannon Murtagh (BFA ’20) earned multiple nominations for The Drowsy Chaperone, continuing a breakout year for their Toronto theatre company, Shifting Ground Collective.
