Emilio Bernardo-Ciddio

3rd Year Music Student

Hey first years! Welcome to the York University Faculty of the Arts, Media, Performance, and Design. My name is Emilio, and I’m a third year music student majoring in trumpet performance, with a minor in geography. After my degree I’ll be applying for Consecutive Education to become a high school teacher.

On York campus I’ve been involved with various groups and initiatives. I’ve been in the Music Student Association since first year and am now one of two Co-Presidents for the Council, and I’ve been involved with the Winters College Frosh. I’ve been working over the past year to bring you a York University Marching Band, and am part of the admin team for York’s 6th annual Media Music Concert. I am a part of Toronto’s brass band community, as well as its marching arts community.

I’m looking forward to meeting with and mentoring you, and I hope that I can help plan events and provide resources that will assist you in your success not only as a student, but also as a person.

You’ve all made a fantastic choice in coming to York. Our programs are well-rounded, innovative, and well equipped to allow any student to thrive and expand their creative and academic experience. I urge you all to take advantage of the open world of opportunities and knowledge that York University and the Greater Toronto Area offer to young artists. Approach this year with excitement and an open mind, and get involved in your campus and communities. You’ll find that these next 4-5 years will truly be the best of your life if you maintain a thirst for knowledge and a love for learning, both inside and outside of the classroom. Feel free to approach or contact me for any reason and, most of all, have a blast this year!
