4th Year Music Student
I am currently in my fifth year at York University, where I study Music with a double major in Kinesiology and Health Science. Coming from France, choosing the right university was very important to me.
I grew up in Paris where I was “fed” culture on a daily basis. I was also always involved in as many things as possible: competitive sports, drama, music, etc.; with a deep passion for sciences as well. After going to Canada for the first time on an exchange in high school however, I realized music was what I truly wanted to pursue. I had always been playing guitar, but I started writing songs and playing shows in cafes and restaurants. My curiosity was only growing bigger and studying music at the university level seemed like the right thing to do. But my interests are many, and York’s music program was the only one that would allow me to learn about everything I was interested in. Music is a passion, and by attending York, studying turned into a passion as well. I believe there is no greater key to success than going to school for the thing you love most. Once I graduate from York, I would like to pursue my studies at the graduate level either in France, or Canada.
At AMPD, I was given more opportunities than I thought was possible. For the past year, I have been working on the International Student Engagement Program, which aims to provide equal opportunities to international students as well as give them a platform to be involved on campus.
Finally, I currently serve as the President for Golden Key International Honour Society at York University. Although the world organization recognizes students in the top 15% of their class and offers services that are strictly reserved to its members, the York Chapter acts as a club and thus any York student can participate in our service initiatives and events.
