On November 14, York Digital Media students Nichie Enriquez and Michael Stuart, along with AMPD Digital Media Coordinator Professor Don Sinclair, discussed the Eureka! Inventor’s Workshop program they developed with the Brampton Library at the Children’s and Youth’s Blow Out, an event held by the Ontario Library Association at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Presenters from across Southern Ontario participated.
The Eureka! Inventor’s Workshop was delivered to children in all branches of the Brampton Library system over the summer of 2014. The maker workshop program, designed to introduce children to electronics, was created by Enriquez and Stuart with Digital Media technician and contract facutly member David Han in the spring. Using Makey Makey boards, Enriquez and Stuart created several games for which the children would develop interfaces and play as a group.
Here are some photos of the fun!
