Applying for Student Awards
For most awards, students must submit an application. In some cases, awards are given on the basis of a departmental nomination, and no application is required.
Complete a Student Financial Profile.
When you get to the area where they ask for a personal statement please include as much information as possible. We are not just looking for your financial needs circumstances but are also looking for any artistic accomplishments, involvement in student community, etc.
Many Fine Arts awards have specific criteria that you must demonstrate and the information you complete in this section of the profile is carried through for all of the awards that you are applying for, therefore we need to see those key factors that may apply for certain awards in this area.
Proceed to apply to awards. This is a simple as checking the boxes of the awards you wish to apply to. Please apply only to awards for which you are eligible. Below is a listing of all available awards, value of those awards, and eligibility criteria. Use this information as a guide when applying.
You may save your profile information and go back to it another time if you do not complete it in one attempt. You may also go back and apply to additional awards that you may have missed the first time. You may go in and make as many changes as you need to before the October 15 deadline.
DO NOT FORGET TO PRESS SEND WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR PROFILE – SAVING YOUR PROFILE DOES NOT SEND IT.
If you do not press send SFS cannot assess your financial need and describes your financial need as “SFP Incomplete”. You would then not be considered for any scholarships, bursaries or awards that have a criteria requiring a student to demonstrate financial need.
