AMPD Bursary

Awarded to deserving fine arts students demonstrating financial need.


AMPD Opportunity Award

Application: Must apply. Submission of Student Financial Profile is required for this bursary for undergraduate students. Graduate students should submit a bursary application to through their departments to have their financial needs assessed to establish eligibility.


CASA AMPD Student Award

Applicant must submit a profile demonstrating a strong record of involvement in, and positive contribution to, student government or departmental, Faculty or York University activities, while maintaining satisfactory progress in his/her studies.


CIBC Interdisciplinary Arts Pratice Scholarship

Awarded to full-time undergraduate students entering their fourth year of study. Majoring in studio work within the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design. Must have maintained a minimum GPA of 8.00. Recipients must have an artistic practice of an interdisciplinary and cross-departmental nature. Must demonstrate artistic excellence through a portfolio review and identify how funding of their final artistic project will concretely support career development after graduation including artistic practice and/or graduate school. Additional consideration will be given to students whose artistic practice is of a cross faculty nature.


Harry Rowe Bursary I – OSOTF

The Harry Rowe Bursary is open to all meritorious AMPD majors in all year levels facing acute financial hardship and is intended to enable them to continue their studies. Priority consideration will be given to the needs of students with disabilities and students from groups that have been historically disadvantaged because of race, color, ancestry and/or ethnic origin. (Applicants are encouraged to self-identity on application).


Imasco Performing Arts Awards

Full-time AMPD undergraduate students majoring in performance studies in any of the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design disciplines such as dance, music and theatre. Visual Art & Art History students are eligible, if they demonstrate they are performance artists. Students must also be enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year at the time of application, and returning to continue full-time studies in AMPD in the following fall semester.

Please submit a personal statement outlining outstanding ability and achievement in one or more of the performing arts, as demonstrated through their work in the studio and in public performance.


J.P. Bickell Foundation Awards

Must apply. Submission of Student Financial profile is required for this bursary. Open to AMPD undergraduates, engaged in AMPD projects, courses or programs involving community outreach. Please reference your involvement with community outreach in your personal statement when completing your Student Financial Profile.


Janina Korol Award in the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design

Open to an undergraduate student in AMPD majoring in theatre, music, film, or dance, with a minimum GPA of 7.5 (B+).

Preference will be given to those students who have demonstrated leadership abilities or have a proven track record of community service. Please include this information in your personal statement when submitting your Student Financial Profile.


Kondor AMPD Awards

Given to a year 3 or 4 student in each department within AMPD, in recognition of creative and/or scholarly achievement. Students may apply or a department may nominate a student for the award.


Phillip Silver Scholarship

Qualified candidates will be nominated by the student’s home department, through recommendation by a faculty member in AMPD. Final selection will be through the AMPD Awards Committee. The student MUST complete the Student Financial Profile found on the Student Financial Services Website.


Russell Norman Gladstone Memorial Bursary

Open to undergraduate mature students in the Faculty of Fine Arts. Please indicate in your personal statement when completing your Student Financial Profile if you entered your program as a Mature Student and not a high school applicant.


SCARSA Discretionary Bursary

Department nominates a student who demonstrates financial need by referring to the SFP report and student application statement of grounds that has been submitted for other awards and bursaries as a reference.


The Avrom Yanovsky Bursary in Fine Arts

Open to entering first year students and continuing students who are completing studio based studies which require supplies or materials beyond regular student fees. Recipients shall receive an award intended to assist in the purchase of required supplies that may be needed to complete their creative studio or performance based work. Please provide details of materials required in application description area of application.


The Bill Chan Bursary

Must apply. Submission of Student Financial Profile is required for this bursary.


YUFA Bursary

Department nominates a student who demonstrates financial need by referring to the SFP report and student application statement of grounds that has been submitted for other awards and bursaries as a reference.
